We all know your friends and family will help out with posting in your forum. They will help because they are after all your friends and family. They love you unconditionally in good or bad times.

Don't you wish you could have the same from other people in your forums? What makes a forum good enough that people will not only join and post but stay after they get their problems resolved?

There are alot of factors which contribute to the success or failure of a community/forum. There are business factors, such as the relevance of the theme of forum.

And then there are other factors such as the friendliness of the people, their resourcefullness etc etc. Personally, I also look at the forum software, some are downright irritating so I keep a safe distance.

Hey totally agree with you.
I think it mostly depends on the business factors like forum theme, forum look-up, including materials, user-friendlyness etc....

Yeah your right, its also good of you have maybe some tools or fun games or someting so that users can do something else there besides posting etc, blogging in forums is always something which has interested me.
