Its all about the notepad - Although I kinda wish it had syntax highlighting! I used Notepad++ for a while, couldn't get used to it tho!!
Notepad forever! :D

Why would anyone that knows anything about the internet use frontpage? The only way you can really use FP is by using the HTML editing view solely, in which case you may as well just use notepad! At least dreamweaver has some good features, and it is customisable, which is always good :)

I use just notepad, but from mainstream programs, Dreamweaver is the best. You might want to check out Expression from Microsoft. It's way better than FrontPage. FrontPage is a terrible program. The only thing that is good about it is how easy it is to get started.

I only ever use plain text editors as I've got far more control over the whole process. Currently on Linux I'm using Kate and if I'm on Windows I use Notepad++.

I use textpad. WYSIWYG editors are only good for forgetting how to write yourself.
Code by hand!

I use Frontpage, mainly for the reason that it's easy to view any changes, works well wioth ASP (my chosen code), and comes with the Office package, which i already have. Buying DreamWeaver would mean spending even more money ;)

If you are looking for something free, check out Nvu (http://www.nvu.com). MS is releasing a new replacement to FrontPage which promises to rival Dreamweaver, so you guys might want to check that out.
Personally, I used Nvu for a little bit but the program that has kept with me through thick and thin is NoteTab Lite. I have used this thing for HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, C++, and more I'm sure I can't remember.
Dreamweaver is IMO better choise.
I use NotePad2, but to quickly make a form or so I use frontpage.

I use dreamweaver most of the time simply cause of the syntax highliting, ask me to code by hand and I can. I think i've found the perfect harmony :)

I'm a big fan of notepad ++, mainly for the fact that like many of you I'm on this PC for 18 hours a day and the colors help compared to just black and white.
I also use Dreamweaver CS3 for help with the more tricky stuff.

Hi All,
I use Aptana IDE which is based on popular IDE Eclipse. Aptana has, beside syntax highlighting whole lot of other features which you would love to have like Ruby/Rails support, Ajax Support and iPhone web development resources. It is *cool*. There are also video tutorial available so teaching and learning is easy. Hey, before Aptana came into being I have used TextPad and NVU as well.

Front Page: Its a Microsoft product, Generally comes with Office software, Not that much user friendly, The tab movements are diffiicult. U cannot easily work inside a front page software
The dreamweaver is a beautiful environment with diffirent view of code, design and code+design. the user can select whatever he wants.. the color coding is also ver essential and is available in dreamweaver. auto help is an added advantage
So I choose drreamweaver

I don't use Dreamweaver. I usually use notepad or Frontpage to create websites.
I find Frontpage to be easy and simple to use which is why I never really thought about trying other products. Of course, people with earlier versions may find it to be tedious and awful, but I don't.

I have to say I started with Dreamweaver and have never changed, I think generally Dreamweaver is also the more popular choice and it is easy to find support and help for it too.
I am currently using Dreamweaver 8 and loving it.
I must say I have not actually tried Frontpage but am happy with Dreamweaver so what is the need.

Microsoft Expression is basicly an update to Frontpage in my opionon, Dreamweaver shows you can't code too well, Notepad is for the pros.. That's my two cents anyway. I myself dualboot Windows XP and Debian, on each I use a simple text editor. (The one that comes with GNOME in Debians case.)

I’m one for Notepad. I have always used it since the first time I ventured into the wonderful world of webdesign. However, I have always wondered what it would be like to use a program like Dreamweaver. I’ve heard good reviews about it…but I just consider it to be “the easy way out”, if you will. It gets frustrating at times coding from scratch, however.

dreamweaver. frontpage has been giving me some problems . sometimes it doesn't detect html code correctly. but now microsoft has change frontpage with expression webdesigner (http://www.microsoft.com/expression/products/overview.aspx). user friendly, you'll just drag and drog create new tables easily. but still it can't beat dreamweaver rite. :D
Dreamweaver is definitely the best. FrontPage is on its way out
