I had my own site for 3 years now but only got my first domain about 11 months ago. I have had alot of problems with my site, copyright issues, hackers, hackers, hackers, hosts shutting my site down, hackers, spammers, leechers, oh did I mention hackers?? It has been rough on me, but now I have put alot of work into it now and working as hard as I can to make It a success. I make approximately $100 a month from my site, all from ads, so I consider myself successful.

I got my first domain just over 2 years ago, it wasn't a crash hot domain, but it did the job for a while on a 'Paid by Posting' webhost, after I got sick of the forum, and I lost my webhosting, I decided to migrate to my first .com domain that I still own and run (http://itsonlybarney.com). Its just a personal blog, nothing exciting.

Yeah I remember I was on a Pay to Host forum to at Trap17 until they kicked me out because my domain was having problems and apparently being Attacked with a Denial Of Service Attack. But i move on from that day forward to payed hosts.

Only recently have I purchased a domain and hosting etc. I'm actually on my second host as the first one was really bad.

The first "proper" site I had was a video game website, it was exciting having it set up properly but then it did'n't really work out :( Then I used the hosting for my current site and bought a new domain :D

I've had a domain and a site for around 8 months. I've only recently purchased hosting as my friend owned a hosting site. When I first started out I used all the free hosts with the free subdomains :P

My first site was DcArcade.com, ironically my first idea was a idea that was in abundance :(
That was only around a month ago :P

Started with a forum, Got fed up of that so started a free webhost.

Because it was a free webhost it got tons of backlinks and became PR3. I then sold it for $60 at SEDO and about a week later it lost it's PR.

Im soon going to make a proxy website, hopefully i will make some money off of it. I don't plan on spending a lot of money on it. I've also thought about making an arcade website, but it would take awhile before i got any decent traffic to it.

I started out on a Website Toolbox forum, and then I took it to the next level and made an entire site with vBulletin on Feb 2006. It opened up on March 17, 2006 and has since then become booming with traffic. over 3000 hits per day!

Well, list:

www.foradio.com << My first .com and big site. Had a SHOUTcast server about a year ago it was used. Sold it for $30 about two months back as it wasn't being used.

www.imagemain.com << Was an image uploading site, but then I got bored of it. Coming back up soon, but that was about 8months back.

www.talkingwow.com << Used to be a blog, about 7months back I guess..

www.kurtispoole.com << In December, my Portfolio.

www.operoxy.com << This month, my proxy. (For Sale)

www.killaroxy.com << This month, my proxy, keeping until the end of May. Currently makes around $10-15 a day now. Then going to sell and hopefully get a Macbook after both proxies, Operoxy and Killaroxy are sold, and starting up two proxys with 4 letter domains and i'll sell them. Gets around 2-3k uniques/day now.

And that's it i'm afraid :)

Hi,

I started a website almost one year back. Still struggling to survive on that field. But, got very good experience and learned a lot from that.

I made my first website when I was 14. I made it because I wanted to have better mark in school ;)

I didn't have my own domain name, but I got a bit of webspace from my uncle when I was 10 years old.

But the site was so bad that it created some of a massive black hole of suckage, not to mention that it was in HTML 4.0, with tabular infrastructure...

Errr... I started my first website in December 2006, when I was 17.
Kind of late.
However, before that, when I was 15, I have developed sites for my father. He did the funding, though. But the December 2006 one is purely mine - the domain, the hosting, everything.

God, I cant remember now - I think the first non free/naff site I built was pchelpzone.net - don't know if any of you guys heard of it - ran it with another dude, but we folded it about a year ago - tho we keep getting requests to resurect it, caus people want the PHP scripts and tutorials (the ones now living here!) again.

Apart from that most of the sites i build have been for clients, think the first one was for a restaurant about 5 years ago, so I was about 14). Finally got round to building my portfolio site (its only taken 7 years :p), and working on a huge project - 260KB of PURE coding (just text files!!) spread over 47 or so files :) - only gout about 10 or so scripts left to write :S
