how the earning from forum ?

I am just curious about , how's a forum making money ?
I think forum is like blog because forum has it's Google Page Rank .
Some forum sign up with Google Adsense and provide paid to post for their forum members . Is this the way we can do ? If we don't use Google Adsense for your forum ,then what should we use ? Just an example about my curious , if i have 100 active forum member in my forum . How , much i can earn from that ?

A forum same with a blog , You will need a good content which demand on your user .

You can offer members paid user groups which gives them extra options. You can also place adsense and earn some money from that but to earn a good amount from adsense you will need a active forum.

Ad-Sense has too high a payout for my liking ($100)
There is a new program launched called BidVertiser (http://bidvertiser.com)
It has a low payout of only $10, and you can customize the ads, the way you think they will suit your page best.
Also, if you offer Paid-To-Post facility, then I recommend that you include an upgraded usergroup, that has more benefits, but to attain that level, members must pay a monthly fee.

I think that AdSense by Google is definitely the best way to go. It seems to be the most popular option at this time.
However, you can also sell advertising to members or advertise other forums on your board for a specific fee per month.
You may also charge your members for certain abilities such as the ability to post in specific forums or to host images for them, etc.

For me, of course i will go for Google Adsense and offering free membership to the member. Maybe you can rent out your forum space or look for sponsor from advertisers. This is another way of income sources.
I think must have a Buy/Sell/Trade forum for you to offer you products or services and for members to trade.

Well I think you should use some other ad Networks too like Bidvertiser. You can also sell few links if you have good PR and traffic. I am sure it will help you to earn some money.
